Payroll roster reporting: Roster vs timesheet comparison

Overview

Within your organisation, you may have employees who need to submit a timesheet that lists out what hours they worked and the breaks they took over their last working week and you may also base your staffing hours of a rostering system whereby you allocate employees' certain hours they need to work per week based of workload demands. An important aspect of a joint rostering and timesheet processes is the comparison of rostered vs worked hours and the associated financial costs associated.

The Roster vs Timesheet Comparison Reporting feature allows you to create a report that you can use to compare the timesheet submissions against the rostered hours of the employees within your organisation and see details such as the start and end time, the cost, location, breaks taken and submission status. You can also use this feature to download an excel file of this data or save the information in a printable PDF format.

Getting Started

  You will need to undertake the below steps via your Employment Hero Payroll platform.

Running a roster vs timesheet comparison report
  1. Log into your Employment Hero Payroll platform.
  2. Click the  Reports menu.
  3. Click the Roster vs Timesheet Comparison Report button.

  4. Select from the following fields:
    • Date range.
    • Pay schedule.
    • Roster location.
    • Roster status.
    • Timesheet location.
    • Timesheet status.
    • Work type.
    • Group by.
    • Employee.
    • Employment type.
    • Include costs.
  5. Click the Run Report button.

    You will now see your Roster vs Timesheet Comparison report on your screen.

Maintain

  You will need to undertake the below steps via your Employment Hero Payroll platform.

Downloading the report: Excel
  1. Log into your Employment Hero Payroll platform.
  2. Click the  Reports menu.
  3. Click the Roster vs Timesheet Comparison Report button.
