We have introduced a new suite of configurations for Salaried Employment Agreements to allow the employers to manage the salaried employees, who are under Individual flexibility arrangements, directly within the award instead of having to remove them.
This introduction, which is an enhancement rather than a legislative update requirement, includes the items below if they do not already exist within an award:
- Pay Categories (Salary and Salary - Public Holiday Not Worked).
- Leave Allowance Templates for “No loading” and “With loading”.
- Rule Set to disregard timesheets.
- Pay Rate Templates.
- Employment Agreements for all employee types (full-time, part-time, and casual).
For detailed information on the changes, please refer to our guide here.
We have also renamed all leave allowance templates by adding the award code as a prefix. This ensures each template can be accurately associated with its respective award, particularly in cases where template names are identical.
29th
We have updated the award to pay the following allowances on a weekly basis instead of hourly. The allowance rates have been adjusted in the corresponding pay rate templates to reflect the weekly amounts as specified in the latest pay guide:
The Production & Support Staff rule set:
- Tool Allowance - Head of department
The Performers & Company Dancers rule set:
- Driver / Person in Charge Allowance
- Assistant Stage Manager Allowance
- Nude Allowance

The Production & Support Staff rule set has been updated to ensure that daily overtime is excluded from period overtime for casual employees, in line with clause 63.2(c).
The following rules were updated:
- 63.2(b) Apply Overtime - Maximum Daily Hours (Cas)
- 61.1(a) & 63.2(c) Period Overtime
- 63.2(c) Apply Period Overtime (Cas)

We have made the following changes to the Award:
-
The shift condition work type "Deputy Ballet Master/Mistress" has been renamed to "Deputy Rehearsal Director/Rehearsal Director".
- The pay category "Deputy Ballet Master/Mistress Allowance" has been renamed to "Deputy Rehearsal Director/Rehearsal Director Allowance".
- The tag "Deputy Ballet Master/Mistress" has been replaced with "Deputy Rehearsal Director/Rehearsal Director". Employees must be reassigned this tag to get the allowance payment.
We have also updated the "Deputy Rehearsal Director/Rehearsal Director Allowance" rules for Performers & Company Dancers rule set to reflect these changes as per clause 32.2(i).

We have updated the award to reflect the Fair Work Commission's National Minimum Wage increase detailed in the Annual Wage Review 2024-25 decision and also includes updates to expense-related allowances. You can find more information on the Determinations here and here.
These changes come into effect from the first full pay period on or after the 1st July 2025. Please install these updates after you have finalised your last pay run before the first full pay period beginning on or after the 1st July 2025.

We have updated the Production & Support Staff ruleset to align with clause 63.6(b) of the award, where overtime payments do not apply to full-time factory sound and/or lighting employees. All hours worked are treated as ordinary time earnings, with any hours worked in excess of 152 hours over a 28-day cycle accruing as time off in lieu (TIL) at the rate of one hour for each additional hour worked.
Additionally, the overtime rule previously applied to non-cleaners working between midnight and 7am has been removed and replaced with two new rules:
- 63.3(c) Night Hours – Not Cleaner (Perm)
- 63.3(c) Night Hours – Not Cleaner (Cas)
These hours will now be treated as penalty rates and will form part of the employee’s ordinary time earnings, contributing to the 38 ordinary hours per week.
We have also introduced a new rules – 63.3(d) Minimum Break Between Shifts (Overtime), and
63.4 Shift Start is Sunday - Overtime –, to ensure employees are paid at the appropriate overtime rate in accordance with clauses 63.3(d) and 63.4 of the award.
Important Note for Full-Time Factory Sound and/or Lighting Employees:
- Employees must be assigned the tag "Factory sound and/or lighting employees".
- Ruleset period must be set to "Four Weekly" to ensure TIL accrual applies correctly after 152 hours.
26th
We have identified an issue affecting Paid Family and Domestic Violence Leave (PFDVL) accrual calculations. The accrual method was changed from "BASED ON A LEAVE YEAR" to "ON AN ONGOING BASIS," which may have caused incorrect leave accruals for some employees. The award has been updated to correct the accrual configuration.
For guidance on making leave adjustments, refer to this support article.
12th
We have updated the "Minimum Daily Engagement" to the following rule sets to exclude Leave Without Pay and Personal/Carer's Leave. This ensures that minimum engagement requirements do not apply when an employee is on these leave.
- Striptease Artists
- Production & Support Staff
- Musicians
- Performers & Company Dancers
Additionally, we have introduced a new work type and shift condition, "No Minimum Shift Engagement" for situations where minimum shift engagement rules are not applicable.
18th
We have updated the rule "63.2(b) Apply Overtime - Maximum Daily Hours (Cas)" to align with Fairwork where overtime applies on first 2 hours and resets on a daily basis.
22nd
We have created a new allowance “10% travel allowance - Sunday & Public Holiday” per Clause 63.5. This allowance is for Production and Support staff who is required to travel on Sunday and Public Holidays when they are not rostered to work. Employees need to select work type on timesheet, and should enter a maximum of 1 unit per day.
NB: There is a system limitation where we do not restrict selecting this allowance and entering hours worked on the same day, however, FWO has advised that this allowance is payable only when employees have not been rostered to work. If the employee is rostered to work on Sunday (clause 6.34(a)) or on Public Holiday (clause 21.5) and directed to travel for work purposes, the time spent travelling will be deemed time worked and paid as per the relevant clause.

We have updated the award to reflect changes made as part of the Fair Work Decision regarding Paid Family and Domestic Violence Leave. Further information on what changes have been applied to the platform and what you should be aware of can be found within this article.
We have created the following new categories:
- New Leave Category: Paid Family and Domestic Violence Leave.
- New Pay Category: Paid Family and Domestic Violence Leave.

We have updated the Leave Allowance Templates to disable the existing unpaid Family and Domestic Violence and we have enabled the new Paid Family and Domestic Violence Leave. We also updated any impacted rule conditions.
As part of Fair Work's ruling, an employee must be paid their full pay rate; this includes their base rate plus any incentive-based payments and bonuses, loadings, monetary allowances, overtime or penalty rates, and any other separately identifiable amount.
We have updated the award to reflect the Fair Work Commission’s National Minimum Wage increase detailed in the Annual Wage Review 2021-22 decision and also includes updates to expense-related allowances. You can find information on the Determinations here and here.
These changes come into effect from the first full pay period on or after the 1st July 2022. Please instal these updates after you have finalised your last pay run before the first full pay period beginning on or after the 1st July 2022. We have also disabled the Unpaid Pandemic leave category as this entitlement has now expired within this award. Additional information can be found on the Fairwork website.
We have updated the Work-Type Working During Meal Break to so that it maps to an employee's primary pay category. Further updates to the minimum wage increase effective from the 1st November 2021 mean we have updated the allowances for performers and company dancers, production and support employees, striptease artists, and musicians with amendments made based on Fair Work pay guide, 30th November 2021.
We have also updated the pay conditions rule set for Production & Support Staff and Performers & Company Dancers for maximum weekly units for hourly and daily allowances. We have also updated the automatic meal break to exclude the Working During Meal Break work type.
We have updated the award in line with the ATO's requirements for STP Phase Two reporting. The reporting of gross earnings is now being disaggregated into distinguishable categories. We also updated the pay category payment classifications in line with the ATO specification categories found here. Also, according to the latest decision by the Fair Work Commission, we have now disabled the Unpaid Pandemic leave category. Additional information can be found on the Fairwork website.
We have made updates to the Unpaid Pandemic Leave allowance Templates so that the balance displays in weeks instead of hours in line with the Fair Work Commission's guidelines. Once the award update is installed, all employees' unpaid pandemic leave balances will display in weeks, not hours. Meaning that an employee’s balance may now show as 76 weeks.
We have also made updates to the Leave Category Family & Domestic Violence leave category, so that the balance displays in days instead of hours in line with the National Employment Standards. Once you instal the update, all employees' FDV leave balances will display in days, not hours. Meaning that an employee’s balance may now show as 38 days.
We have updated the award to reflect changes made as part of the Fair Work Decision around flexibility during coronavirus. The new schedule allows employees to take up to two (2) weeks of unpaid pandemic leave. We have also created a new pay category (Unpaid Pandemic Leave Taken), leave category and work type (Unpaid Pandemic Leave). Also, we updated the rule sets, where necessary, to include/exclude the work type and leave category to some pay conditions.
Further, we have also updated the Leave Allowance Templates to make sure this new leave category is enabled and is now accessible for employees to take this leave when required. Further, under this new schedule employees can take up to twice as much annual leave at a proportionally reduced rate if their employer agrees. You will need to manually adjust the employee's pay rate and leave balance to half in each pay run for the period of leave.
