Managing your integration for Slack | HR Web Platform


As an organisation, communication between all employees is crucial. You may use an external messaging platform, such as Slack, that acts as your primary communication feature for your employees. Using your integration with Slack, you can post announcements via the Employment Hero HR platform, which will alert employees to any announcements through the Employment Hero platform and dedicated Slack channel.

  We base the default access level on a per user basis and whether they have  view,  edit and  delete access and excluding any changes made via our Custom Security feature.

Getting started

The following outlines the steps needed to add the integration for Slack to your HR platform.

Enable your integration for Slack
  1. Select  Settings menu.
  2. Select Add-Ons submenu.
  3. Scroll to the Slack add-on option.
  4. Click the Connect button.
  5. Select the Slack channel where you want your announcements posted.
  6. Click the Allow button.

    Helpful Hint

    Slack will now appear as a Connected Application on your add-ons page.



The following walks you through how to post an announcement and make it appear in your chosen Slack channel, and also how to disconnect the integration.

Post an announcement
  1. Click the  Home menu.
  2. Under the Company Feed section, click the Shout Out and Recognise your Peers button.
  3. Click the Make an Announcement button.
  4. Enter your announcement and once done, click the Post button.

    Helpful Hint

    The message will now show in you specified Slack channel.

Disconnect the integration 
  1. Select  Settings menu.
  2. Select Add-Ons submenu.
  3. Click the Actions button.
  4. Click the Disconnect button.
  5. Confirm your selection by clicking the Disconnect Application button.

  • Hi. It would be great to see a company feed integration to MS Teams also.
