Hero AI is a chatbot designed to streamline access and understanding of policy documents and HR inquiries for employees. Using state-of-the-art Natural Language Processing (NLP) technologies, Hero AI offers a robust Q&A interface that transforms complex policy documents and HR inquiries into easily searchable and understandable formats in the Employment Hero Work app.
This article will answer some frequently asked questions for Hero AI, and show an employer, manager or admin how to use Hero AI.
How to use Hero AI
- In Employment Hero, go to Compliance > Policy Management.
- Follow the prompts to upload policy documents or add policies from existing templates.
- Log into the Employment Hero Work app.
- Tap on the Work icon.
- Tap on the plus icon in the bottom right-hand side of the screen or the Ask Hero AI tile at the top of the screen.
- Tap on Ask Hero AI in the Policies section of Work.
- Type in your policy question and click the highlighted send button.
- Read the disclaimer and tap Done.
- Hero AI will then provide the response.
- Rate the response with the thumbs up or thumbs down at the bottom of the screen to help Hero AI with the accuracy of and efficacy with its responses.
Frequently asked questions
Hero AI does not maintain any kind of context of the user (i.e. which region the user is in, or if the user is a manager or employee). Instead, access controls are determined based on their permissions to view policies.
If an organization has set up policies in a way that allows UK users to view UK-related policies, AU users to view AU-related policies, or Canadian users to view CA-related policies, then Hero AI will also adhere to this access control.
We use a Large Language Model (LLM) to process your organization's policies so that we can give a reply to your employees. Hero AI will also provide generalized HR and work advice.
Hero AI searches through your company's policy documents and provides general HR advice. Some example questions you can ask Hero AI are:
- What is my vacation pay entitlement?
- How can I improve my leadership skills?
- What is my company's parental leave policy?
- What makes an effective 1:1 meeting with my manager?
- What is my company's work from home policy?
Yes. If your company has not uploaded the policy information, you will receive the below message:
I’m designed to answer questions about your organization’s policies. Currently, I cannot find any policies for your organization. Please contact your admin to add relevant policies.
