Purchase, send and manage Hero Points

Available for the following plans: Employment Lite, Employment Plus, Employment Unlimited
Available for the following HR classic plans: Standard, Premium, Platinum
Available for the following user access levels: Admin      

Employers can reward and recognise employees who exceed expectations. Each recognition links to a company value, showcasing performance and values. Employers can also reward employees with Hero Points for milestones like work anniversaries or birthdays.

The Hero Points feature lets you buy points to use the platform's features. You will get a receipt by email. You can also see your organisation's points balance and transactions made by users.

Purchase Hero Points

Important

Currently, you can only buy Hero Points using a credit card. However, for large amounts, our Accounts Team can process a direct debit transaction for you. If you would like more information about this, please reach out to our support team.

  1. Click Benefits on the main menu.
  2. Select Points Management from the submenu.
  3. Click the Purchase button.

    Warning

    When you click the Purchase button, a list of employees who may incur a fringe benefits tax (FBT) will display. Please be aware of the FBT that you may be subject to.

  4. Complete the Top-up Amount field.
  5. Click the Continue button.

  6. Enter your card details into the relevant fields.
  7. Click the Continue button.

  8. Review your details and then click the Complete Order button.

Send Hero Points

Send Hero Points immediately

Important

The platform does not automatically send email notifications to ‌recipients when issuing Hero Points using this feature. If you wish to inform the employee about their Hero Points allocation, you must do so outside the platform by sending them a separate notification.

  1. Click Benefits on the main menu.
  2. Select Send Points from the submenu.
  3. Enter the employee's name into the Search Bar field.
  4. Enter How many points you would like to send.
  5. Add a description of what you are celebrating.

    Important

    Employees can only see the description you entered within the Employment Hero Work app‌. They can not see it on the HR web platform.

  6. Click Now under When do you want the points to be sent?
  7. Click the Submit button.

    Warning

    Once you award Hero Points to an employee, you can not reverse the transaction.

Schedule Hero Points to be sent in the future
  1. Click Benefits on the main menu.
  2. Select Send Points from the submenu.
  3. Enter the employee's name into the Search Bar field.
  4. Enter How many points you would like to send.
  5. Add a description of why you are sending Hero Points.

    Important

    Employees can only see the description you entered within the Employment Hero Work app‌. They can not see it on the HR web platform.

  6. Click Set a specific date & time, under When do you want the points to be sent?
  7. Choose a date using the Select date function.
  8. Choose a time using the Select time function.
  9. Click the Submit button.

    Warning

Manage Hero Points

Manage rewards
  1. Click Benefits on the main menu.
  2. Select Points Management from the submenu.
  3. Click the Manage Rewards button.

  4. If prompted, click the Get started button.

  5. Use the toggles on the right-hand side to choose when you want to send Hero Points to your employees. Your options include birthdays and work anniversaries.
  6. Enter the amount of points you want to send to employees for each occasion.
  7. Toggle on or off the independent contractors toggle, depending on if you want to send points to contractors.
  8. Click the Finish button.

Manage recognition
  1. Click Benefits on the main menu.
  2. Select Points Management from the submenu.
  3. Click the Manage Recognition button.

  4. Click the Edit button.

  5. You can change the approver using the top-down menu.
  6. You can toggle on or off: Reward your employees with Hero Points.

  7. Once you have finished changing your recognition settings, click Finish.
View your Hero Points balance
  1. Click Benefits on the main menu.
  2. Select Points Management from the submenu.
  3. You will now see your Hero Points balance in the Available balance section.

Download Hero Points invoice
  1. Click Benefits on the main menu.
  2. Select Points Management from the submenu.
  3. While on the Transaction History tab, select the Purchased tab.
  4. Find the relevant purchase and click Download invoice.

  5. Wait for the Processing (Generating invoice...) notification to complete while your browser downloads the invoice.

  6. Open the downloaded invoice.
