How is an employee’s leave balance impacted by termination?
Answer
When an employee is terminated, their balance will be re-adjusted so that the end date will be the cut-off for their leave balance.
If an employee's leave request is after their input termination date, Employment Hero will adjust their leave balances. The amount of hours or days that were previously approved on the termination date and beyond will be reinstated to the employee’s leave balance.
However, the termination date will not be returned as leave.
Example:
An employee's termination date is 1 November 2024, but the employee had previously approved leave from 1-8 November 2024. 2-8 November will be returned to the employee as leave, but not 1 November 2024, which is forfeited.
