People reporting: Visualise your workforce data

Get started with people reporting

When planning HR strategy and staffing requirements, it is vital to get accurate reporting on workforce data and trends. People reporting not only shows you your employee data; it also presents it in easy-to-understand charts and visualisations. These key statistics enable a better understanding of your workforce, as well as inform better hiring decisions.

  • The Workforce Snapshot shows you a breakdown by gender, employment type, and age group. 
  • The Tenure Report shows how long your employees have been working with your organisation. You can filter the report by employment status, teams, locations, and more.
  • The Turnover Report shows the number of employees your organisation has lost over a given period. This can be further broken down into turnover by teams.
  • The Headcount Report shows you the headcount of your organisation. You can also check headcount on a specific date, broken down by employment type and location.
  • Employee Termination Reporting shows you your organisation’s terminated employees, broken down by employment type, location, and reason for termination.

  1. You can access people reports from the Reports menu.
  2. Under Reports, click on the People tab. 
  3. There, you can access the following reports:
    • Workforce Snapshot
    • Tenure Report

    • Headcount Report

Leave reporting: Insights into your leave processes

Get started with leave reporting

Employee leave management is a crucial part of proper HR practise. With leave reporting, you can get insights into the effectiveness of your organisation’s leave management policies, as well as detect leave trends for workforce planning.

  • Accrued Leave Reporting allows you to create a report on your employees’ leave accruals. You can view accruals by leave type, as well as the monetary value of your employees’ accrued leave.
  • Leave Taken Reporting lets you create a report that you can use to analyse leave requests over a certain time period. You can use this feature to track how much leave your employees have taken.
  • The Sickness Report is an additional leave report for increased leave details and better forecasting. It shows the reasons for sick leave, as well as common days on which it is taken.

Getting more from leave reporting

  1. You can access leave reports from the Reports menu.
  2. Under Reports, click on the Time tab.
  3. There, you can access the following reports:
    • Accrued Leave Report
    • Leave Taken Report
    • Sickness Report. For data to flow into the Sickness Report, you will need to set up leave reasons in the Sick Leave type.

Compensation reporting: Fair and effective compensation

Get started with compensation reporting

Compensation reporting allows you to manage and track salaries, bonuses, and benefits, ensuring fair and effective compensation management. 

  • You can view the following compensation reports:
    • The Budget Report lets you view your budget allocation, as well as compare budget versus actual spend. 
    • The Cycle Report allows you to view the progress of each stage of the compensation cycle.
    • The Company Salary Overview Report shows you a salary benchmark comparison to ensure fair compensation for your employees.

  2. Under Reports, click on the Compensation tab.

Time and attendance reporting: Keep track of work hours

Get started with time and attendance reporting

Employment Hero’s time and attendance data is tied to employees’ timesheets. With accurate time and attendance data, it enables accurate pay processing and staffing decisions.

  • Timesheet Reporting creates a report on timesheet submissions. This data flows from your employees’ clock-in and clock-out times, which will generate a timesheet. You can see your employees’ start and end times, break times, and total work hours. 
  • The Live View Report displays real-time clock-in activity generated by your employees. You can see the status of an employee's clock activity, e.g. clock-in, break times, back from break, or clocked out. The data is accompanied by geolocation, as well as any photos taken by an employee when they clock in or out.
  • Roster vs Timesheet Comparison Reporting allows you to compare actual employee attendance versus your employees’ scheduled rosters. You can compare start and end times, breaks, total work hours, and roster versus timesheet costs.

Get started with performance reporting

Employment Hero’s reporting integrates closely with the performance management module. This gives you valuable insights into the engagement and satisfaction levels of your team.

  • Performance Review Reporting lets you check if employees and managers have completed their assigned performance reviews. You can also use this report to send bulk reminders to those who have yet to complete their performance reviews.
  • The 1:1 Report further breaks down how your employees and their managers are doing with their one-on-one (1:1) sessions. You can further drill down into individual responses to each 1:1 discussion point.
  • You can track progress made towards organisational goals. This is done using the framework of objectives and key results (OKRs).
    • Employees with Goal Set Reporting shows you which employees have OKRs allocated.
    • Employee Alignment to Company Goals Reporting shows you which individual and team OKRs have alignment with your overall company goals.
    • Goals Progress Reporting shows whether your employees are on track to meet their OKRs.
  • The 9-Box Talent Grid Report helps you categorise employees according to their current performance versus future potential. This helps with grooming leadership talent and succession planning.

In the Employment Hero platform, your employees can recognise and shout out their peers for a job well done. As rewards and recognition can lead to increased performance, it’s crucial to gain insights into how the culture of recognition is applied in your organisation.

  • Shout Out Reporting shows your top teams and employees that send and receive shout-outs. Here, you can see your employees that not only go above and beyond, but also those that recognise their efforts.
  • Recognition Reporting allows you to create a report showing which employees are sending and receiving recognition within your organisation. Each recognition is tied to your nominated company values. This is also an opportunity to recognise your employees further with tangible benefits like Hero Points.

Asset reporting | Keep track of company assets

Get started with asset reporting

The Asset Register and associated reports allow you to manage your organisation’s assets. It also shows you which employees these assets are assigned to.

  • The Asset Register enables you to create a list of assets owned by your organisation. From here, you can assign assets to employees, e.g. company laptops. This allows you to keep track of an asset’s ownership throughout its lifecycle.
  • Asset Reports show you the status and history of an asset's ownership, improving accountability and reducing loss. You can create the following asset reports:
    • Inventory by category
    • Active inventory by status 
    • Inventory to be returned by terminated employees
    • Disposed assets by reason
    • Disposed assets by category

Getting more from asset reporting

  1. To set up the Asset Register, navigate to Compliance > Asset Register.
  2. Click on Add Asset to add your organisation’s assets, or bulk import assets with a spreadsheet file.
  3. You can view reports based on asset status (e.g. active, disposed) or asset categories by selecting relevant options in Reports > Other Reports > Asset Reports

Compliance reporting: Ensure effective compliance

Get started with compliance reporting

Employment Hero’s suite of compliance reporting tools helps ensure peace of mind. You can efficiently check on risk areas and address them before they become a problem.

  • The Audit Trail tracks changes made to records on the platform and who made those changes. You can drill down to changes based on the employee's name or check for changes made to a specific feature, ensuring accuracy in your HR processes.
  • During employment, your employees will need to abide by various policies, earn certifications, as well as sign various legal documents relating to employment. You can track whether your employees have acknowledged these policies and documents, as well as notify them if they haven’t done so. This can be done through the following reports:
    • Policies and Induction Content Reporting
    • Certifications Reporting
    • HR Documents Reporting
  • The Safety Incident Report allows you to view the specifics of safety incidents in the workplace, as reported by employees and contractors in your organisation. 
  • Tax File Number (TFN) Declaration Reporting allows you to not only view TFN lodgement information, but also lodge your employees' tax records through an electronic link to the ATO.
  • Work Eligibility Reporting lets you check an employee’s visa and work eligibility status if they are not an Australian citizen or permanent resident.

  1. You can access compliance reports from the Reports menu.
  2. To access the Audit Trail, navigate to the People tab, then Audit Trail.
  3. For other compliance reports, navigate to the Compliance tab. There, you can access the following reports:
    • Policies and Induction Content Reporting
    • Certifications Reporting
    • HR Documents Reporting
    • Safety Incident Report
    • Tax File Number (TFN) Declaration Reporting
    • Work Eligibility Reporting

Security reporting: Ensure your data is secure

Get started with security reporting

Security reporting shows you which employees have two-factor authentication (2FA) enabled. This ensures an extra layer of security for your organisation’s HR data.

  • The 2-Factor Authentication Report shows you which employees have 2FA enabled. You can filter this data by teams, as well as status. Employment Hero does have the option to enforce mandatory 2FA for all employees.

  1. You can access the security report from the Reports menu.
  2. Under Reports, click on Other Reports > 2-Factor Authentication.

Aside from the pre-built reports, you can create customised reports with information that matters to your organisation.

  • You can build custom reports using hundreds of data points across all of your employees, e.g. reports on pay details, which states your employees stay in, certifications, and more.
  • Creating a custom report is easy with Employment Hero’s report wizard. The data in custom reports also updates in real-time as your workforce evolves.
  • You can accompany each report with a chart for easier visualisation of the data.

Getting more from custom reporting

  1. You can set up custom reports from the Reports menu.
  2. Click on Create New to launch the report wizard.
  3. Using the wizard, you can specify the data points you want to report on, as well as add visuals if needed.
  4. You can save the custom report for later retrieval.
