When conducting a VEVO (Visa Entitlement Verification Online) check in Employment Hero, there are several reasons why it might fail. Most often, it’s due to a minor discrepancy in the details entered, compared to the employee's Immi visa grant notification. Below are the key areas to review if a VEVO check does not go through successfully.
We recommend asking the employee to check the details against their Immi Visa Grant document, including:
Vevo visa check is failing
-
Employee's Name: Ensure the name entered exactly matches the name on the employee’s passport. If the employee has a middle name, it may need to be included in the First Name field to apply to the VEVO check correctly - check with Vevo's latest advice.
-
Date of Birth: Double-check that the date of birth entered matches the one on the employee’s passport and visa documentation.
-
Passport Number: Verify that the passport number entered matches the one listed on the employee’s visa. Ask the employee if they have received a new passport with a different number.
-
Passport Expiry Date: Ensure that the passport expiry date in Employment Hero is accurate and matches the date on the employee’s passport.
-
Country of Passport: Confirm that the country of passport entered in the platform exactly matches the one listed on the employee’s passport and visa.
-
Visa Expiry Date: Check that the visa expiry date is correct and aligns with the details on the employee’s Immi Visa Grant document.
If everything seems correct, ask the employee to verify their details against their Immi Visa Grant document, focusing on their middle name, passport, and visa expiry dates.
If all details are accurate and the check still fails, the issue may be with the VEVO system itself because they undertake maintenance occasionally. Wait 24 hours and try the check again.
