To terminate your employee in Employment Hero, please follow these steps:

1. Log into Employment Hero.
2. Click the People (people icon) menu on the purple side bar.
3. Click the People list submenu.
4. Click the Employees tab.
5. Click the Actions dropdown button next to the employee you need to offboard.
6. Click Offboard Employee.
   
7. Complete the following fields:
   • Termination date.
   • Termination type.
   • Comment.
   • Employee access.
   • Payroll cut-off date.

     Helpful Hint

     The Payroll Cut Off Date field allows you to choose a different time you would like the platform to terminate the employee on your payroll classic platform if it is integrated with Employment Hero. For example, so you can still finish the remaining leave and expense approvals or process your final Pay Run.

8. Click the Terminate button.
   
9. You can complete the next steps on the payroll classic platform. Please refer to Step 2 in this article.

First, run a pay run as usual. Within that pay run, you can mark the relevant employees that need to receive a termination payment. Please follow these steps:

1. Log into Employment Hero Payroll classic.
2. Click the Pay Run (hand icon) menu on the black side bar.
3. Click the Pay Runs submenu.
4. Click the New Pay Run button.
   
5. Complete the following fields:
   • Pay Schedule
   • Pay period ending.
   • Date pay run will be paid.
   • Manually add employees to this pay run.
   • Create pay run with empty pay.
   • Import timesheets.
6. Click the Create button.

7. Click on the employee's name who needs a termination payment.
8. Click the Actions button.
9. Click the Terminate Employee button.
   
   
   

   Warning

   If the employee is included in an un-finalised pay run, you cannot use the termination payment feature. You will need to finalise those other pay runs first. Afterwards, you can process their termination payment.

10. Select the termination date.
11. Click the Save button.
    
    
    

    Important

    Repeat the steps 7 to 11 for each employee that needs a termination payment.

12. Click the Finalise Pay Run button.
    
13. Input the correct details if you have Pay Run Approval set up.
14. Click the Next button.
    
15. Complete the following fields:
    • Date paid.
    • Create pay event.
    • Create super payment.
    • Publish pay slips.
    • Report packs.
16. Click the Finalise button.
    

Terminating an employee does not automatically cancel any onboarding tasks that were triggered before an employee was offboarded. Therefore, you could still receive a reminder if a previously triggered task is past its due date.
The best way to delete these pending tasks is by following the process below:

1. Log into Employment Hero.
2. Click the   Dashboard (Home) menu.
3. Go to your To-do list widget.
4. Click the ellipsis.
   
   
5. Click View all tasks.
6. Click the Other Tasks tab.
7. Type in the name of the terminated employee into the search function.
8. Select all the tasks you want to delete.
9. Click the Actions button on one of the tasks.
10. Click Delete.
