The Performance Agent in Hero AI helps managers and HR admins prepare for performance conversations and record follow-up actions from the same chat. It covers goals, check-ins, 1:1s, feedback, recognition and 9-Box scores.
The agent drafts. You decide and save. Hero AI never rates anyone.
Where to find the Performance Agent
Open Hero AI and select Performance from the agent dropdown in the header. The Performance Agent is currently available on web only.
What you can do with the Performance Agent
- Prepare for a review in one place. Ask about one employee and get a summary drawn from their goals, reviews, 360s, feedback, 1:1 notes, recognition and more, instead of searching each module.
- Check the sources. Every point shows its source and date. Gaps are stated plainly rather than left out. Coverage is shown as two counts, Core and Context, not a single score.
- Take action without leaving the chat. Set a goal, log a goal check-in, schedule a 1:1, add a 1:1 note, give feedback, recognise someone against a company value, or add a 9-Box score.
Getting started
- Ask in your own words, for example "Help me prepare for Sarah's review" or "Set a goal for @Sam to own the weekly client report by the end of November."
- To open the summary, select the report card in the chat. To download the report as a PDF, use the ⋯ menu on the report.
- To take an action, select one of the suggested next steps (up to three appear above the message box), or ask for it directly. Hero AI shows a draft card. Edit it, then select Save to platform. To discard it, select cancel. Nothing is saved until you save.
- Saved goals, check-ins and feedback appear on the employee's pages. Refresh the page if they don't show straight away.
Things to know
- Nothing is saved without your confirmation.
- Hero AI never rates anyone. For a 9-Box score, the performance and potential ratings start empty, and Save stays disabled until you set both.
- The "visible to the employee" options for 9-Box scores and comments are unticked by default.
- Reports only read information. They don't change any records.
- Hero AI can only save records you have permission to change. If you don't have permission, the save is refused, and Hero AI can't override that.
- Recognition is linked to a company value, so your organisation's values need to be set up first.
Goal progress uses four statuses: On Track, Making Progress, Off Track and No check-in yet.
Troubleshooting
You don't have permission to change records for that employee. Check with your HR admin.
The information isn't recorded yet. Record it (for example, a goal check-in), then ask again.
