The Employment Settings section allows you to enable organisational settings, such as your desired timesheet type, or requiring two-factor authentication for all employees. You must enable the open beta feature, Negative Leave Balances, through the Beta Flask drop-down by selecting Opt-in. This feature is still under development and may change. For more information on enabling this feature, refer to the linked article. Please note, the Employment Hero Work app does not support the Daily Hours on Weekly timesheets option.

Editing data
- Click the Settings menu.
- Click the Company Settings submenu.
- Click the Employment Settings button.
- Complete the following fields:
- Setup mode.
- Timesheet entry.
- Negative leave balance.
- Calendar type.
- Overnight timesheets.
- Show staff details.
- Enforce two-factor authentication.
- Typical normal working hours per week (Optional).
- Typical work day.
- Automatically pay employees.
- HR Manager emails.
- Work safe authority.
Helpful Hint
Work-safe authorities can review all safety incident reports. The overnight timesheets feature is only available if you select the Start and End Times Based on Daily Entries timesheet option.

If your payroll admin enables the Hide an Employee's Leave Balance feature within the payroll platform, then an employee can still submit a leave request even if they go into a negative balance and you have enabled this feature.
The Automatic Timesheet Approval setting streamlines payroll processes by enabling automatic approvals for employee timesheets. Reducing manual review, and ensuring timely payroll execution. This feature can be activated via your platform's company settings, as detailed in this article. Note that only timesheets matching the Employment Hero roster in work type, location, date, and times are automatically approved. This feature is unavailable if you use our payroll rostering platform.
Employment Hero adds the HR manager's email to your platform invitation email. Providing a new employee with a point of contact for any issues regarding the platform. You can enter multiple HR manager emails by using a comma to separate them.
Setup mode blocks all outgoing emails from the platform, but it only prevents emails from being triggered, not from being sent at their scheduled times. For example, if an action on the HR platform at 3:00pm is supposed to trigger an email to be sent at 7:00pm, and you activate setup mode at 5:00pm, the email will be queued and sent only after you deactivate setup mode.
However, if setup mode is activated before the email triggers at 2:00pm, then the email will not be sent, even after setup mode is deactivated. Additionally, setup mode allows sending of verification emails only if a user changes their account email. This mode also restricts access to the platform, limiting it to admins/owners only.
Employment Hero provides three timesheet types:
- Start and End Time Based on Daily Entries.
- Daily Hours Based on Daily Entries.
- Daily Hours Based on Weekly Entries.
