Answer

Template types determine which users can sign the documents you send through. The signatories able to sign each document are:

  • HR documents: Single signatory, i.e. only the sender.
  • Employee contracts: Dual signatories, i.e. sender then recipient.
  • Contractor contracts: Dual signatories, i.e. sender then recipient.
  • Other HR documents: Dual signatories, i.e. sender then recipient.
  • Policies: We do not provide a signature for this template type and you can manage these documents via the in Policy feature.
  • Knowledge base: No signature.
    • Note: By default, knowledge base documents are only accessible to admin users. However, employees can also be granted access to them when admins apply the appropriate permissions via Custom Security Settings. Knowledge base articles can be accessed in the HR Guides section of the HR platform.
  • Factsheets: No signature.

So you have now read about each template type and you are now wondering, what next can I do. There are two recommendations I would make on this front and they are:

  • HR employee file: HR documents This feature allows you to select a document, complete any required variables, and then email it onto the chosen employee to accept and sign.
  • HR platform: Policy management This feature allows you to choose from Employment Hero's pre-made content or upload your own documents and then share it with your employees.
