Using Hero AI

Hero AI (also known as HeroBot) is a generative AI-answering solution for employees powered by a Large Language Model (LLM) that allows you to ask your organisation any questions about its policies, your personal data, and your career. It offers a robust question-and-answer format that transforms complex policy documents and personal employment information into easily searchable and understandable formats.

Beyond policy queries, Hero AI acts as a customisable WorkCoach, factoring in your job title and role to provide guidance. It also provides instant access to personal data like leave, rosters, and pay information, and empowers managers to take direct actions, such as approving leave requests, through conversational chat.

Employees

Access Hero AI to view policy documents and personal data
  1. Log in to Employment Hero
  2. Click the star icon in the top right-hand side of the screen, which is how you access Hero AI.
  3. Type your question into the text box (e.g., "How much leave do I have?" or "What is the company WFH policy?"), then click the Ask button.
  4. Hero AI will give you an answer and may list out some extra resources, such as help centre articles or links to your personal profile.
Access Hero AI to ask a general HR or work enquiry
  1. Log into your Employment Hero
  2. Click the star icon in the top right-hand side of the screen, which is how you access Hero AI.
  3. Type your HR/general work question into the text box, then click the Ask button. Hero AI will give you an answer and may list out some extra resources, such as Help Centre articles.

Employers

Access Hero AI to take action or view policy documents
  1. Log into your Employment Hero platform
  2. Click the star icon in the top right-hand side of the screen, which is how you access Hero AI.
  3. Type your question or action request into the text box (e.g., "Approve John's leave request" or "What is our parental leave policy?"), then click the Ask button.

Frequently asked questions

What types of questions can I ask Hero AI?

Hero AI searches Help Centre articles, company policies, and your personal employment data. It can answer questions such as:

  • Policy: "What is my company's parental leave policy?" or "How is long service leave calculated?"
  • Personal Data: "What are my bank and tax details?", "Show me my pay information," or "When is my next performance review?"
  • Rostering: "What are my roster details for this week?"
  • WorkCoach: "What skills should I display to help my career development?"

Additionally, Managers can use Hero AI to take actions, such as: "Show me pending leave requests" or "Approve annual leave for Sarah Smith."

Does my company have to upload policy information to Hero AI?

Yes. For policy-specific questions, your company must have the information uploaded. However, personal data (leave, pay, etc.) is pulled directly from your Employment Hero profile.

What kind of information will I see?

Hero AI adheres to strict access controls. You can only see policy information or personal data (like bank, tax, and super details) that you are already eligible to see based on your User Access and permissions.

Helpful Hint

No data is stored anywhere but within our secure ecosystem. Personal information and client data are purely processed by a Large Language Model (LLM) API and are never used for model training purposes.
