Important

Companies with a standard subscription do not have access to the Employee File Audit Log but do have access to the Audit Trail Report in the Reports module.

When a record changes and you need to know who made the change, when, and what was altered, the Audit Trail feature can help. It lets you view a detailed change log for an employee's record, showing what data was modified and by whom, without needing to ask managers or admins directly.

How to see an employee's audit trail

Important

To view the audit trail for all your employees at once, you will need to create an Audit Trail report. To read further details on how to create an Audit Trail report, refer to the following article.

  1. Click the   People menu.
  2. Click the Employees list submenu.
  3. Select the employee that needs their audit trail viewed.
  4. Click the Audit trail tab.
  5. Click the View Details button.

    You will now see on your screen the full details of what changes occurred.

The employee audit trail can show you who did the following actions and when they did them:
Module. Audited Action.
Personnel. Activated a membership.
Re-actived membership.
Off-boarded an employee.
On-Boarded an employee.
Deleted an employee.
Updated manager (Primary and/or Secondary).
Updated location.
Updated team.
