You have not set up the 'I Will be Lodging Reports to the ATO' field correctly to support multiple employing entities | Payroll classic STP lodgement warning

Warning

Type. Feature. Warning Name.
Lodgement warning. Business Details. When lodging for multiple employing entities, the value of I will be Lodging Reports to the ATO must be set to either As a Registered Tax/BAS Agent or As an Intermediary for Multiple Employing Entities.

Explanation

This warning shows when your business has multiple employing entities set up in your business and in this case, you can not select on the ATO Supplier Settings page the As the Employer ATO lodgement option. If you have not set up this information correctly, the platform will display the above warning when you go to submit a Single Touch Payroll (STP) lodgement.

Solution

You will need to select the 'As a Registered Tax/BAS Agent' or 'As an Intermediary for Multiple Employing Entities' options on your ATO Settings page, instead of your existing 'As an Employer' selection. To read further information on this process, refer to this article. You may need to refresh your pay event or update event data for these changes to display on your screen.
